Countdown to OT

Yeah.. I’m doing countdown. Yeah…. it is drawing near…… I just can’t wait to go.

Yeah, its true about the spa

July 20, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

Got a free complimentary 1 hour massage from True Spa (subsidiary of True Fitness) at Jaya 33, PJ.  So both of us, my szer and I went and I knew it will be some sort of marketing ploy. Well, luckily the person supposed to give us the sales talk was not present or else we would’ve sat there listening to endless crap.

The complimentary foot spa (not foot reflexology massage, mind you) was rather so-so. I’ve chose for foot massage. They gave me option of foot spa, shoulder massage and back scrub. Well, the place is quite nice. Its on the 4th Floor of Jaya 33 building…. one floor above the gym, True Fitness and there’s a swimming pool under construction. They have this massage chair where they have a jacuzzi for your feet. It is not so ergonomically to sit and have your feet massaged as you have to be alert to avoid your feet falling into the water in the jacuzzi. The complimentary massage was just for 30 minutes. They cheated us. Another 30 minutes was supposed for the sales talk.

However, the cute plump girl attended to us was rather nice by letting us know that the person supposed to talk to us was not present and we can just leave some contacts.. friends and relatives that might be interested for the massage package or should I say membership. Hey…. the normal price and even member’s price is still quite expensive. I thought they’d bundle it together with the gym membership package.

Anyway, we’ve sold many of you readers’ contacts in return for 30 minutes of indulgence. We’ve got no choice. Haha. What do you say? If you get a call from True Spa, chances are it is from me or szer. Enjoy your spa ok.

Your favourite bak kut teh

July 13, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 3 Comments →

Hello world. Post is scarce nowadays. Not much time to blog. A lot of work and kinda lazy. Exam’s coming up. Someone was sodomised by Anwar. Our Najib is trembling in fear and a bit kelam-kabut while gulping his sliver as you can see on tv when he appeared for news press conference. Prices for every fucking thing has gone up. Salary and essential allowances still the same as 5 years ago. Maarfeeeleeendough fuck suck. Inflation….. !!

Well, been going around eating bak kut teh and the best is stiillll in Kepong. Last week, I had bak kut teh 3 times in a week (PJ-SS51, PJ- opposite St. Ignatius Church, Klang-Taman Rashna). Sometime you will hear people saying that bak kut teh shop in some area is the best….. and another fella arguing the one in another area is the best….. and the debate goes on and on. Well, all these dishes come in various flavour and style of cooking. At the end of the day, it all depend on your preference.

I hate Klang bak kut teh because it sucks and they force you to eat from the plate with fork and spoon. Stupid isn’t it? How many scoops of soup can you take to down a good mouthful of soup down your throat? Sometime, when people blanja, you got no choice but there’s no satisfaction. I don’t know which smart ass joe thought of it eating with fork and spoon. When you ask for chopstick, chinese spoon and rice to be serve in bowl, the waiter will look at you dumbfounded. Geez.

Best bak kut teh in ourskirt KL:

  • Lim Kee bak kut teh (Jalan Development, Taman Kepong) - they have good yam rice
  • yet another Lim Kee bak kut teh (Tmn Bukit Maluri, Kepong…. near Tuck Kee Restaurant)
  • Kaka bak kut teh (Kepong main road near RHB Bank and drive-in Pizza Hut/KFC) - also serves good pig leg vinegar; you won’t miss their eye-catchy red signboard
  • Restoran Grandpa bak kut teh (formerly Chong Huat in Taman Bidara, Selayang) - also famous for its salted mui choi

When you found a good bak kut teh shop, you will be reluctant to go elsewhere for it. Any better bak kut teh in Klang Valley? Bring it on.

*edited* Oh yeah… Ban Lee bak kut teh (next to Dynasty Hotel, Jln. Ipoh) is also great. They cook bak kut teh using charcoal stove and it adds to the flavour.

Unisex School of Driving

July 08, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 3 Comments →

I was in Bangi when I saw these car hogging the road. Ok, fine, someone’s learning how to drive. But hey, Unisex….. what a name for a driving school. What are trying to convey? Both genders can sign up for driving classes at this school while other driving schools only take single gender?! Haha.

Two “L” cars hogging the trunk road.

Guiness Stout facts

July 02, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

The high quality Guinness brewed in Malaysia has been awarded the Guinness League of Excellence Award for two consecutive years - 2006 and 2007. This award recognises the Guinness that you drink in Malaysia as being the very best in the world outside of Ireland.

They’ve refined the distinctive taste of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout to give it just the right balance of strength and smoothness while maintaining the bittersweet and full body character that’s unique to Guinness. In doing so, the alcohol content is now 6.8%.

Yeah, I gonna redeem my 2 free bottles of stout at the nearest The Store. Thanks GAB.

See you in South Africa

The Euro has ended bitterly for us, the Deutschland fans. There’s no trophy yet for this decade. Watched the game at Souled Out, Hartamas with Mel, Daniel Franklin and his colleagues. There were actually two Germans in our crowd and I think we’re the only Germany fans there.

The thing is everyone else are rooting for Spain and the environment is like Germany vs The Rest of Europe. All this while, there’s never a big crowd of fans for Spain or did you know of anyone who’s supporting Spain for years and very hardcore at it? I don’t think you’ve seen such a person here… and yesterday everyone went into the Spanish camp. Man… what is this joke…. Yeah.. I admit the Spanish outplayed the Germans and they deserved a win. Being No. 2 in Europe is not bad either. Look where’s all the sissy Italians and overrated Englishmen. Lucky England did not make it !!! Thanks Israel.

They actually came there with flags…. they were shouting in German and Daniel spewed profanity like no body’s business when our team looses ball possession, fouled, someone’s not booked for acting etc…. even Liverpool team was not spared. On the far left is Stefan and I forgot the one sitting next to Daniel.

Dan, is his name Ugur or something?

After the match, it is normal to see this. Mel couldn’t help but to take pictures. Well, this is football. Anything can happen. At least we stick to our beloved team through thick and thin and not switch camp like what the others did. I can bet there were many fans of teams which were knocked out by Germany in Euro, and the England crowd. I bet. I didn’t see anyone wearing a Spanish shirt…. but true fan will wear their official shirt or colour in a Final game. What a pathetic fans crowd of the spanish team here in Malaysia.

Deutschland, we will prove to the world in South Africa.

Car repairers up charges 30%

June 28, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 1 Comment →

PETALING JAYA (JUNE 26, 2008): The Federal Territory and Selangor Automobile Repairers Association has announced a 30% increase in charges, effective next month.

Citing inflationary pressure as the main reason, association chairman Datuk Ho Yoon Ping said the increase covers all types of repair works. As for spare parts and materials used for repairs, he said workshops will charge according to market prices.

“Apart from a 35% to 45% increase in materials for spraying and paint works in 2002, the charges for other repair works have not been adjusted for the last 11 years,” said Ho, in justifying the hike.

He also explained that inflationary pressure is forcing mechanics and apprentices to demand a 30% raise in their salary.

“As such, it is not unreasonable for us to increase our charges by a similar quantum,” he said.

Apart from repair works, he said the charges for towing and insurance claims have also been increased.

He said he will direct some 900 members of the association to display the new list of charges prominently in their premises, and would makesure that the increases do not exceed 30%.

Mindful that cars have become a necessity rather than a luxury for motorists, he hoped the hike will not hurt them too much.

Live telecast was lost

June 26, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

I don’t know if Astro have good quality live telecast feed. I am watching the game live on ntv7 and its been twice the feed was broken.

It was 1-1 when the feed was broken. Then, the blokes on tv were talking about the foul on Philip Lahm that could’ve been a penalty.

Then, the blokes mentioned Klose scored. Its 2-1. And when the feed was back up…. it was already 2-2…. which i heard to be a blunder by German defence. Eh… i was also in a shock.

Then…. Philip Lahm scored. That was a superb goal. The final score is 3-2.

Germany is in the Euro 2008 Final !!!

0330 hrs

June 21, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 2 Comments →

I was awaken by the Handphonetron transforming sound. An sms from Daniel Franklin informing me the first goal of the Portugal-beating bash. I was a bit in a “hangover” condition and was a bit tired and thought of leaving it to fate for Germany to progress on to the semi-final. In short, I was a bit sleepy and reluctant to get up.

I was back to slumber and not more than 4-5 minutes later, came another sms. Second goal was scored in just a few minutes after the first goal. I was a bit moved and couldn’t sleep already. Quickly switched on the TV and to my dismay, there’s no live telecast on free tv. Arrgh. Then came another sms telling me I’m missing a good game. That’s it.

I quickly donned my Germany shirt and rushed to the nearest mamak. It was half time and I was managed to catch a glimpse of Sherby Singh. Hooray. Ordered hot Milo and tosai.

Watching football alone can sometime be very boring but for an important match, I’ve got no choice. Glad my sacrifice of staying up is not wasted. Its been a while since I woke up in the middle of the nite to watch football. Seriously.

Germany: A chance for glory

June 19, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

Dealing with pressure has never really been a problem for the German national team, which is just as well given their status as tournament favourites going into the 2008 European Championships.

A quick glance at the record books reveals that Germany boast one of the richest and most successful footballing heritages in the game, both before and after reunification in October 1990.

West Germany have won the World Cup three times in (1954, 1974 and 1990) and finished as runners-up three times (1966, 1982 and 1986), they won the European Championships twice (1972 and 1980) and finished as runners-up (1976). Since reunification Germany have finished as European Championship runners-up in 1992, won the tournament in 1996 and finished as World Cup runners-up in 2002.

Add into the equation a third place finish at the 2006 World Cup, a tournament they hosted, plus a reputation for meticulous preparation and it is easy to understand why the Germans exude confidence despite consistently high expectations.

Germany established their credentials as leading Euro 2008 contenders with their impressive World Cup performance, but by the time they became the first team to qualify for the European Championships their status was duly upgraded to that of favourites to lift the Henri Delaunay Trophy on June 29th.

However, that is not say Germany’s qualification was not without its slip-ups.

Recruiting fans

June 17, 2008 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 2 Comments →

Was in Ipoh with szer and her parents (ditched by the old folks for they have their own activities) for the weekend and had a fair share of eating. Even roamed in style on a German marque…. the old Beetle. However, its air conditioning was a bit shitty and we have to rely on the window air scoop. Nevertheless, it was fun driving the Hitler’s brainchild.

We shopped at Jaya Jusco for the whole afternoon because we dare not go anywhere under the scorching sun and the faulty air conditioning of the Beetle. Bought these kiddo shirts for the kids, Babybandit and Aaron… hoping they will join me and the rest of the world in supporting the Mannschaft.

Of course the one with “Deutschland” imprinted is mine and just for illustration purposes of this post.
