An Indian’s chinese wedding dinner

November 06, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

Attended Guna’s wedding dinner at Jalan Meru, Klang the other day and man… Indian wedding dinner is later than chinese wedding. Malaysian time. Invitation card stated 7.00pm sharp. Mun Chon and I went together. We left home at 7pm and reached there in 30 minutes via NKVE. Oh yeah, by the way, it was held in a Chinese restaurant.

We still gotta wait till 9.15pm for the dinner to start. Arrgh. When we reached, the newly wed couple was not even there yet. Nevermind. When dinner started, we were treated to a dance performance for the whole night by a group of dancers procured for the occasion and its part and parcel of the Indian culture. Dance is essential NO MATTER WHAT. Remember going to Lingesh and Dave’s birthday party. Dance was the highlight of the whole party. Fast dance beat go together well with the fast paced dance. Whereas for a chinese wedding dinner, karaoke will be the sole performance.

While we were eating the 4th -5th dish, there were many people just arrived. Ayoyo. Why are these people so late? And suddenly their table was filled with all the dishes… first dish to the fifth dish. Ang pau, we have to get a chance to get hold of the bride’s groom, our macha, a G, Guna when he walked past. There’s no front reception counter to administer the angpau collection. Ok nvm. Next time, I gonna bank into the person’s account and put the receipt in the angpau. Guna’s coat was filled with angpau. It was a muhibbah dinner where there’s Indians, of course.. 70%, chinese… all of us from the office and some business associates and there were Malays occupying 2 tables. But its a chinese restaurant… errk.. ok whatever. But then, there was no pork served.

Alright. Will post the picture soon when I get it from Guna.
