November 30, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

By the time you read this, I’m on the plane going to Jakarta. Yay. The day has finally come. I just don’t know how to describe the feeling. To be able you see your dearest after such a damn long long long time. Another eating trip? Whats good to eat over there? I’ve heard of nasi padang. nasi bali, nasi acheh…. nasi goreng america, nasi KL…. nasi… ok.  Rice.

Ok. Once back from Jakarta, I’ll be making myself occupied. I’m taking a course for a year or two. That’ll make up the time more useful. Hmm… good bet. Thanks Poh Poh.

Oh yeah, Book-let came early. Good.

A day at the HINDRAF rally

November 27, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy, Current Affairs No Comments →

This morning an Indian colleague told me about the HINDRAF rally that was held in Jalan Ampang and at the gate of British High Commission. He told me he was not there but another indian colleague, PV was there. I was like, “HUH?”. Ok. I haven’t seen PV today.

However PV told this fat gundemama and this fella told me. You get it. Ok. PV was there on the streets of Jalan Ampang with his hommies. They were there for fun and just join the crowd. However, I don’t know if they are really there for the cause. So, when tear gas canisters were thrown at them and the crowd, they thought it was just smoke/fog and never thought that it really smarts. Gundemama said PV was blinded temporarily. Like those flashbangs. However, when the wind was blowing the opposite direction (toward the cops), PV they manage to pick up a tear gas canister, held it for a while and threw it back towards the cops. I was like “Woohho”.

Cross-junction in front of KLCC, Angkasa Raya, Lembaga Getah and Public Bank

Then, when the federal reserve cops sprayed the water cannon they thought it was just mere water. Little did they know about the chemical in it. They got itch all over the hands and scratching everywhere. PV and his friends ran helter skelter and dispersed. They regrouped some time later. They went to the park in KLCC and dived into the fountain pool to wash away the chemical water thats causing the itch. Other people waded the swimming pool.

PV, way to go !!! Yeah. “By the way, endroo, on the free TV, we only saw how the protesters whacked the police, whacked the police cars, threw stones etc…. but on Al-Jazeera they showed the police whack Indians and pundek, one police officer said they took the minimal action. Pundek lah.”

The best for your garage floor

November 25, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Sponsorship Programme No Comments →

My garage is my toy room where I’d spend a lot of time for my hobby, tinkering with my car. However, it became very dirty and greasy over the years and the cement floor is cracking. Therefore I need a better flooring for my garage and at the same time, give it a fresh and better look. I’ve decided to install a new garage flooring. I am going for diamond floor tiles and vinyl garage floor tiles for an attractive, non-slip, solid floor for a garage or workshop. It also has an appealing design. At certain section of my garage, I will be applying epoxy for moisture insulation. In this combination of flooring, I get a floor that are quiet, warm, fire and chemical resistant, flexible and will not crack. It won’t get affected by automotive chemicals and moisture. I can get my A-Z garage needs from CarGuyGarage.com.

It is all this kinds of event that’ll bring all old secondary school friends together to meet. Many who I’ve not met since secondary school turned up. Some married, some are already a mom. Haha.

Myth of Thai amulets

November 21, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy No Comments →

Recently had a late nite drink with my friend, Agent and he’s now into something new. A new hobby and interest. He’s fine…he’s seems happier and merrier than his already happy and merry life. The secret? Ok, he’s been wearing this amulet and he dragged me into this amulet talk which I cannot avoid and would like to know a thing or two about it because I saw many chinese are wearing it nowadays. Wonder why there are so many gods.

So my friend, Agent been wearing one and he told me life is getting better after putting on an amulet. He said after wearing amulet which he bought from someone I don’t know, he felt that business been good and there’s cash flowing in and out of his hand and he managed to take a slice of it. The he went on telling what these little thing can do, various kinds of amulets and purposes, the origin of various amulets, the power of an amulet and how to measure an amulet’s power/strength etc…. the list goes on. Amulets were made by Buddhist monks who prayed and or recited mantras on it for years.

As Agent carried on with his sermon, what caught my attention were amulets power or strength. It is believed that these jatukam have good and evil power depending what was used to make the amulet. They are made of wood, scented wood, stone, earth, bones, skulls, ashes whatever… encased in a transparent plastic little case. The “good” amulets are believed to bring prosperous wealth for business folks, good grades for students, good health for the old and sick, love to the lonely hearts and the list goes on. Whereas the “evil” amulets have evil power of course, for people to gain easily from vice business. There’s even amulets if worn by a guy he can easily attract girls for sexual pleasure because the spirit in that amulet wants to. Enough said. Then there’s amulets to make someone’s life miserable till he/she commit suicide. Man… this is all unbelievable. I’m speechless.

Agent even took out his amulet and showed me how they measure an amulet’s power . I wished I’d record his moves but sadly no. Ok.. basically you grab it in your palm and if your finger jut out higher the more power. Oh, talking about power, he also recounted once he was asked offered some amulets with good bargains, he was almost “hypnotised” or “possessed” when he held one. He said that particular amulet talked to him promising supply of girls for pleasure. He told me he was really attracted by the promising lure. His hand trembled as he held it. It shows the power of that amulet. Whoohh, then he went home to think about it if wanna buy or not coz he’s a bit tight in cash. After a shower and dinner he was back in reality and he scrapped the idea of that amulet fearing that it would ruin his life.

But… why are these amulets produced by monks and yet has an evil connection. I really don’t understand why. Maybe I should ask Agent more about it.

Sin-ga-lin-gam

November 20, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy, Current Affairs No Comments →

Ask a chinese what the word “singgalingam” means and they’ll tell you that it means bullshit or bullshitter depending on the context. I learn of this in secondary school, whenever there’s an indian guy bullshitting/talk cock or any derivation of it, my friends will call them “singalingam“. This is by no mean to offend Indians and particularly those with “Lingam” for a name. This is just for humour and educational purposes if I should put it.

Well, just how they came up with this word? In the chinese Hakka dialect, “sin ga lin” is = “sin ga lan” (cantonese) which has almost the same meaning as bullshit. Its a vulgar word. The “lin”/”lan” here is dick. Yes, your dick. My Hakka-speaking friends came up with the subject word by adding a “gam” to the end of the word hence “sin ga lin gam” was coined to address it to the Indian classmates who at times like to bullshit and boast.

Usage examples:

  • He is a singgalingam.
  • Dey anneh, please don’t singgalingam around.

Alternatively, you can google the word “singalingam” and see for yourself.

Went to Digital Mall today after work and was looking to buy some DVDs for the weekend. Wanna check out if there’s any war movie released recently. Heck.. all DVDs pirate shops closed. Or are they out of business? It could be the aftermath of the recent raids I’d guess. Now where to buy prison break 3 for my dearest? Hmm…. oh yeah, there’s one shop in Aman Suria where I got my Downfall (Hitler’s). Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

Mentera semerah padi

November 20, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Music 1 Comment →

If you ask me which Malay song that I won’t get tired of and I can listen again and again in a row… it has to be this one by M.Nasir of Siapa Mahathir (Who is Mahathir) fame many years ago. Man, he was banned to appear in mass media for sometime. Go and google it if you want. I just love the spiritual and uplifting beat of this song.

Hei! kersani mengalir lah dikau
Menjadi raksa
Mengisi belikat punggungku
Agar aku bisa berdiri
Tegap dan segak
Bagaikan laksmana Melayu

Hei! sepuluh helai daun sirih
Ku gentas bersama
Bunga cengkih jadilah dikau
Darah merah pekat
Mengisi uratku
Agar bisa aku berlangkah
Gagah dan tampan
Bagaikan sijantan yang berkokok

Di mana bumi ku pijak
Di situ langit ku junjung
Alang-alang menyeluk pekasam
Biar sampai ke pangkal lengan

Aku seru mentera pusakaku
Mentera semerah padi
