One of my favourite song of the 90s.

Was at the UM dental faculty and a Dr. Amal took out the archbar wires. Dr. Liza on leave. Ok, I was freed and did some mouth exercises. Had a few strands of mee hoon and a few pinches of kuih at the canteen. Then went back to the op room and the doc, Dr. Ha said I need to be rewired. What the fuck?! Oh ok. You’re the Doc.

Then I tried clean my mouth with the Colgate Doraemon toothbrush and tongue scrapper I brought along. Then I asked the Dr. Ha again if he can just let me go eat something more. I wanna eat at least porridge. He was reluctant coz he’s sacrifying his lunch time and I said I needed half an hour. “Alright then,” he said. Zoommmged. Me and Szer disappeared from the OT.

Went back to the canteen and asked for porridge (plain white porridge). Thank God porridge just served. Took a bowl, added some soya sauce, pepper, fish curry and some soto soup. Stirred well and walloped. Wish I brought Bovril along. After finishing the porridge, alas.. something more solid…. went back to the OT.

The patient hall was empty. The OT was empty. Only Dr Ha sitting on a stool, waiting for me. He even put a notice on the op chair which reads “Patient pergi makan” (patient went off to eat).

Came back and rewired the thing. Dr. Ha done it better and neater than Dr. Liza. He used 2 “fish loops” to tie up the thing. Simple as that. Dr. Amal was amazed and kept pestering Dr Ha how to do that loop. If she got a rope there, I could have teach her bowline or the No. 8 loop. Haha. Even diagonal lashing. Clove hitch?!

So. Here I am again.. mouth still shut tight. Hmm, another week. I’ll be back to work on Monday but only sit in the office. I’m too weak to drive around the traffic jam.
