Evolution of tambun biscuit

September 29, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Food 3 Comments →

I always loved Him Heang’s and everytime my aunty came to KL from Penang, she’d buy a few boxes of Him Heang’s. But now, my uncle bought another brand and I loved it immediately. I can wallop half a box in a few hours of TV.

Its better than Him Heang’s orginal recipe. This one is coffee flavoured. Yummy.

But…. Drangonball anyone?? Ghee Hiang? This is definitely war of the tambun biscuits. Whats your favorite tambun biscuit brand?

Throwing it away. Tak nak.

Yesterday I decided to throw away my collection of cigarette boxes that have been sitting in my antique display cabinet in the living room. You can’t find some of these at the shop here. Some are from Africa. Some are from the US. Cigarette box is quite handy for storing AA batteries for the camera and some other small stuffs.

However, I have quit smoking and this collection is going away. My mom is giving it to his friend… who so happen also like to collect these rubbish.

One of the bad boy of the EPL in the 90s. If you had seen him fighting on pitch, you’ll know what I mean. He’s the man who don’t give a fuck. No nonsense. If he don’t like you, he’ll mess with you.

Tough bike for war

September 24, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Stuffs 2 Comments →

The motorbike that the Germans used during Europe blitzkrieg in the 40s. BMW R75 with a sidecar unit. Anyone still remember the show Born To Ride starring John Stamos in the 90s. That motorcycle show had me grown fond for this German marque however…. not the yankees’.

During WWII, BMW produced the BMW R75 motorcycle with a sidecar attached. Unusually, the sidecar’s wheel was also driven. Combined with a lockable differential, this made the vehicle very capable off-road, an equivalent in many ways to the Jeep. This is a technically advanced machine in which the third side-car wheel was driven from an axle connected to the rear wheel of the motorcycle, effectively making it a three-wheeled vehicle. Fitted with a locking differential and selectable road and off-road gear ratios the R75 was highly manoeuvrable and capable of negotiating most surfaces. It was even fitted with a reverse gear. It was this technological R75 at that time that had the Allied yankees dropped their jaw in awe and instructed the upcoming Harley-Davidson to come up with something up-to-match with this marvel in order to stay compete in mobilisation power.

However, today, Harley-Davidson is the more sought-after de facto chopper touring big bike.

The BMW Mini Cooper Saga

September 23, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 1 Comment →

Was at a family outing of the Tohs and Mr. B asked Uncle C why is he still driving that Proton Saga when he should get a BMW Mini Cooper S. With all his real estates, assets… I guess he can easily buy an M5 and drive off the showroom rightaway.

However he still love to drive his functional no-nonsense Proton Saga and it takes him to places. The rest of the men argued he should try new technology… Mercedes for instance. But he countered that he once broke the traffic rule and was stopped by a cop. The cop let him go without any “coffee money” as he dressed like a normal chokiah uncle like those you see in kopitiam drinking Guinness while rubbing their feet. And he just drives a Proton Saga.

Hmm, I’m not siding anyone… as both camp have their point. One was asking him to enjoy life.. made a fortune and its time to enjoy what he reaped as he’s a retiree. On the other hand, you’d get complicated problem from the cop, robbers, thieves…. malicious people if you’re driving a luxury car. You feel insecure. What the need for all that…?! Hmm… just stay low profile.

Ok… whatever…. if you have a choice to drive an M5 or Proton Saga… which one would you choose?

I’m on soft diet and I’m getting a bit sick of porridge. Szer bought me Ma Ling pork luncheon meat. So I came up with this recipe:

  1. Cut the luncheon meat bloc into small cubes. Put it into boiling hot water to cook for 5 minutes.
  2. After that strain it and put into a bowl. Add half teaspoon of Bovril and mix it well.
  3. Then make a cup of Bovril soup. Put a teaspoon of Bovril paste into a cup of hot water and stir well.
  4. Then mix the Bovril soup into the bowl of lunchoen meat and mix it well. Ready to serve.

Ingredients:

1 can of luncheon meat (170 g)

1 teaspoon of Bovril for the soup

1/2 (half) teaspoon of Bovril to mix with the luncheon meat
