Singaporean & Vietnamese, I respect your taxis
I went to the bank this afternoon during lunch time and when I’m done with my banking, it was raining heavily. Geez. My office is just walking distance away from the bank, HSBC Jalan Sultan Ismail (near Bukit Bintang). Fuck. Its just about 300 metres down the road.
So I’ve got no choice but to take a taxi. I know it would be costly for that distance…. maybe it should cost about RM2.60- 3.00 ?! But heck, no. When I got into the taxi (reg. no: HWB 5694), the cabby told me RM10.00 !! What the fuck!?
G: Menara Promet !
Cabby: Ok. RM10.00 !
G: What?! Its just nearby.
Cabby: Yeah, I know. But this is what I charge tourist.
G: Do I look like a tourist?
Cabby: Ok lah. RM8.00 is final!
G: Aiyoh, its just nearby. Why you’re not using the meter?
Cabby: We’re doing tourist only.
G: But still….?!
Cabby: ……..
G: ok. RM5.00. I’m giving you a lot already.
Cabby: Ok ok ok lah.
I’ve got no choice…. there were about 5-6 taxis without passenger passed by looking at me helplessly. Argghh, fuck those taxi drivers.
So… to all Singaporeans….. I respect your taxi service. Vietnamese, I respect your taxi service !!
Anyone with KL taxi experience to share?

we should really call up the authority and report to them about all this…. but i think they (the authorities) are doing nothing because this is not the first time such a thing happened.
It has been years we’re listening to all this taxi dramas.

Lee: Normally late night is a very good opportunity for them to cut ur throat because they know that u are desperately in need of getting a transportation. These cabbies will therefore take the chance to slaughter u. I think there are a lot of these late night cabbies cases but govt never bother to do anything about it.
Andrew: Hey, what do u mean when u wrote the cabby says, “We’re doing tourists only”?

Sean: He means that he takes only tourist (mat salleh, mid-easterners etc) but because I jumped into the car, he got no choice. It was raining heavily.
Lee: At night is worse.
They are not like Singapore… where they really use the meter. A taxi will even jam the brakes and skid just because you waived at them. Here? They just look at you and speed off.
