Pulau Ketam

January 22nd, 2007 4 comments

Thats malay for Crab Island. This place is a fishing village where majorities are Chinese. The first time I went there was in 1996 with my family. Then , there were subsequent trips with my homies.

Basically, this place is just like another fishing village but a bit more commercialized. About 45 minutes of ferry from Port Klang.. but now they have speedboat which take only about 30 minutes to reach PK. The seafood there is slightly more expensive than the last time I went there. So, if its just for the sake of eating seafood, i dont really recommend this. But if you never been there…. its nice to see the place and at the same time have some seafood.
First thing you’ll notice upon reaching the jetty is the stench. Don’t be surprised that the shit you produce will drop straight from the toilet bowl into the sea below (yet the local children swim near the UFO landing spot). Someone can just peep your asshole from the water below. Beware.

Ok. For more info, go here : http://www.pulauketam.com

Good morning KL !

January 21st, 2007 8 comments

Ok, thinking of this nightmare that will haunt every city dweller in a weekday morning, I am wondering what can we do to stop or at least cut down the trauma.

Morning in KL is all about traffic jams as a result of single occupancy vehicle (SOV). Why? When the fuck will the public transport systems be upgraded as promised by the government? They said they reduced the subsidies on fuel to cover for public transport upgrade but is there anything been done?

Now, the stupid fucking upper level people in the office are making us to get our ass back in office at 8.30AM. Ok, its in the employment contract. But sometime, can’t we just bend some rules to conserve some energy. Its not like we’re gonna go to jail.

My job requires me to travel a lot in Klang Valley and early morning we gotta get back to office. Sometime when we have work to do in the area where we’re staying, we gotta go back to office and then come back to our place. Isn’t it stupid? And we gotta go through all the jams to office in downtown KL.. just to have a breakfast and then come out again. I forgot how many times I’ve been dissing about this but I just can’t help. This is my only way out to express.

They don’t travel out that much so they just don’t know what its like traffic jamming to office for breakfast and then get back to your place again to carry out work. They just don’t fucking understand the situation. I think the managers have some shit in their brains coz its sitting near their anus. The even have beef among themselves and we gotta suffer with all this mambo jumbo. The government already screwed up with their public transports and now these dickheads are making our lives harder. Thats just the way it is?.
Time to change. Is digi, always the smarter choice? Get a new 016 simpack and you’ll find out.

Insurer boycott by mechanics (15 Jan 2007)

By AUDREY EDWARDS and LOW BOON TAT

SEREMBAN: Mechanics who are members of the Federation of Automobile Workshop Association of Malaysia (FAWOAM) are boycotting a insurance firm for “unfair treatment”, its president Cho Chee Seng said.

Cho: Says move would affect 100 vehicles daily

He said a major complaint was that the insurer continued to give “lump sum repair offers” which meant that items like parts or labour data were not itemised.

“Members feel unfairly treated by the insurer. We end up doing jobs that are sometimes insufficient or difficult to cover. And the consumer ends up feeling that we have cheated them,” he added.

“Cost shifting occurs during the process of preparing an estimate or final bill for repairs. This may involve adding unnecessary procedures or exaggerating labour time or costs in one area to offset costs not included elsewhere in the damage appraisal or final bill.

“It can be perceived as fraud by consumers or regulators, even if the final payment by the insurer is deemed reasonable by the workshop.”

Cho said that members would continue to service existing cases at their workshops. However, for new cases where vehicles were towed to the workshop, a vehicle owner would be given 48 hours to remove their vehicle if it was insured by the said company. They would also have to pay the towing charges.

He said that if the consumers wanted their members to repair the vehicles, transaction would have to be in cash and they would be able to submit a claim to the insurer for reimbursement.

He said that the move would affect about 100 vehicles daily.

There are 1,200 FAWOAM members who are involved in repairs of vehicles involved in collisions.

The federation’s total membership is about 3,200.

Members also complained that the insurer had insisted that all third-party motor claims must go through its panel workshop system while the consumer was not required to use such a facility.

Foooh… at last these people have the balls to strike. A check with a local Klang Valley workshop guy, I was told that they are boycotting one particular insurance company in Malaysia. The biggest motor insurer. Yeah…. thats K Insurans Bhd.

I’ve been listening to almost every workshop operator dissing this insurance company since the day I join this industry 4-5 years ago. Same shit everytime. Now they (the frogs) have came out from coconut shell and they’re doing something for themselves, for their business, for the economy, for the livelyhood of everyone.. at least in the automotive industry.

I wish them luck. STRIKE! STRIKE! STRIKE!
