Taman Negara : Canopy Trek

January 01, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Travel 4 Comments →

The canopy walkway in Taman Negara. The longest suspension bridge in the world measuring 460m – 500m in length. Suspended 25-40 metres off the ground. Taman Negara trip is not complete without experiencing this. Some people had their balls shrunk, but I wonder what is there to be afraid of. I just love jumping on the bridge. I’m scared of heights but not this. Part of it were closed for maintenance. We only walked about 250m of it.

Some of my homies shivered before stepping onto the bridge. Geeez.

Group photo before going up.

This little German kid was cute.

Waiting for others to complete the canopy walk.

Me in action

Only 4 person at any one time on the platform (on the tree) ; 5 metres distance from each other on the bridge

Posing under a tualang tree

This is tongkat ali tree

Exhausted?

Our guide, Miss NG, said she’s on leech treatment. According to her, leech produce some “thinner” into our blood (which is normally thick and dark red in colour) to enable it to easily suck when its lighter. Some people with thick blood should try this treatment. But you must let countless of leeches to suck you for a duration of i-don’t-know-how-long.

Miss Ng explaining to us about the benefits of tongkat ali… apart from the fact it can enhance our sexual stamina.

After the now-bloated leech sucked Miss NG and dropped off her hand, we put it among an army of ants and the ants were more than happy for food to fall from the sky.

We tried climbing on something like what Tarzan used to swing around in the jungle.

This is Ken.

Encik Ee. Our second guide.

2 of my best buddies, Lee and Ng

Lee almost fell from the thing. Having a couple of kilos extra really a pain in the ass.

Visit Malaysia Year 2007

January 01, 2007 By: endroo G Category: Bloggy 2 Comments →

Happy New Year. I’m not gonna say all those good wishes which you probably had for the past few days.

So, we’re now in 2007 and what we have for the year ahead? Well, the title of this post already suggest it. But before I go more on this, I would like to mention something of which I saw in the news a few moments ago. Mat Rempit menace. Yes. These sohai motorcyclists were back yesterday among the crowd of people ushering the new year at Bukit Bintang. “Cabul dan Ragut” was the title in the news. Molest and Snatch. Gee. Sometime I wonder why there are all these uneducated youths among us?! There were also footages in the news of them speeding on their kapcai motorcycle along the highways (and I said highway… not trunk road) in opposite direction. And worse of all, why all these rempits are of the same race… i mean the malays? Is this the produce of the government who flourished them with various subsidies, allowances, loans etc. On a neutral point of view (not racist, duh), ever seen chinese or indians bet their lives in these stupid races on the road? There may be a few but I think 85% are of malays. This is a social ill. How can we promote Visit Malaysia Year 2007 with even a local KL chap walking on the streets of KL can be robbed/snatched of their belongings. Save the tourists. Beware of any lurking motorcycle trailing you from behind while you’re walking on the streets. Just beware while you’re walking on the streets of KL. Someone might just snatch your handbag, wallet or even mobile phone away.

Ok. Shits aside. There are many places to visit in Malaysia. As they said, Malaysia is really Truly Asia. To all the tourists, we Malaysians, welcome you to our country. Just don’t bring too much of valuable things.
