Paradise of Gangstas

December 13th, 2006 16 comments

Sometimes I sit, staring out the window, watching the world pass me by. Why you may ask. Hmm. I don’t know how to start. I’ll try.

A friend is back in town from Wisconsin USA. He contacted me for a meet-up. So, I called up a few homies and told them about it. All of them got no problem except The MBA and Sean. Well, the MBA was still in office and couldn’t make it. Sean? He said he’s fine with the plan if its not a mamak session. Reason? He told me that his dad don’t allow him to go to places with a lot of gangsters… and that include mamak stalls/shops. He (Sean) said his dad don’t want him to get into gang fight. Geeeeeeezz. Holy cow. Before this, it was Kepong. His father don’t let him go to Kepong. Reason? A lot of ah beng gangsters in Kepong.

Sean is from a wealthy family and maybe mamak is way too cheapskate for a drink. How often do we see gang fight at a mamak stall?

* the following is a seperate dedication to Sean (not Jean)

Sean, if you’re reading this, I hope you don’t mind I’m posting about it. I knew you since primary school and I know you are a good son. Obeying your dad is good. Sometime its not that we’re not calling you for meet-up or anything …. its just that mamak stall is our regular hangout place for football, weekly lepak and cheap yet tasty food. You have 3 plasma tv at home with astro decoder for each unit. We don’t.

If we go drinking alcohol, you’re not interested because you don’t even drink shandy. Starbucks? The nearest at Jusco Kepong. Kepong!

Tell me what to do. I’m almost speechless when you told me the mamak thing. No hard feelings ok.

BBQ at Glory Beach

Hi there. Just got home after a nice weekend break with fellow bloggers at Glory Beach, Port Dickson.

On the first, we had BBQ at the beach. It was just a light-scale BBQ. Not much of food were wasted, only a few of those burnt chicken wings and sausages. We just wanted to enjoy the company of each other. As for the drinks, JD and the green tea took centrestage. We played a game which required us to draw for our team mates to guess what we are drawing. I forgot the name of the game. Oh yeah.. Pictionary.

The next day, we went to Melaka for a day trip. Yeah… Melaka. But this time with a different bunch of people, so it was worthy. Ching Ling (Cely) met Jason Mumbles, a local, who brought us around Melaka town for food. Well, as usual, the chicken rice ball. I don’t know what so great of it, but every chicken rice ball shop were packed with patrons. Its just like another chicken rice stall/shop selling the steamed or roasted chickens. Just that its rice were squeezed into ping-pong ball lookalike. We ended eating some curry laksa and then went walking around, shopping for some souvenirs. After that, we headed to the famous Geographer Cafe (where they shot the famous chinese hongkey flick More More Tea Inn [Momo Cha] ). We had the upper section all to ourselves. It was a relaxing place. tihtahpah gave a few of us a massage. Man, she’s good.

After that, Jason brought us to this cake shop at Bandar Hilir… where the cake they have there can only be found in Melaka. Oh, ok. I don’t know what cakes were those but it tasted good. Nay, not a cake lover though. YY’s cheeeeeeeeeesse cake is afterall still the BEST. After eating cake, we went to the Portuguese Settlement for a spicy dinner and the preparation there for Christmas was so nice and warm. Its like a whole community affair where everyone came out to the street to help out to put up lights, banners, decorations, ornaments etc. Children were running here and there, cars with loads of tourists kept coming, caroling troupes practiced different versions of Feliz Navidad. They even have a house named Santa’s Workshop. A giant Santa balloon erected and decorated at the outside of the house. Caroler were singing at car porch. It was so merry. I love it.

On the way back to PD, it rained so heavily. Back at Glory Beach, we eased and showered and then watched the Arse-anal vs Chelski game (they drew 1-1). Then we all chatted the whole nite till 5-6 AM. Today, jammed all the way back to KL because of Selangor sultan’s birdday.

Dead body for dummies

December 7th, 2006 1 comment

The issue of a Christian family take on the government for their beloved father’s remain had interested me for a few days. This is not the first time such case happened here in Bolehland. Everything’s boleh. Everything can happen. I just can’t believe… it happen again in high profile.

All this are a waste of time and money. Even if the JAIS/JAKIM or even JAHIL win the case, what significant gain do they get? Its just another dead body. A corpse. It will rot at the end of the day. Gee. There’s something wrong in the constitution. Why can’t the family be spared from all this mambo jumbo?

The recent one… it is said that the dead man was once a Muslim convert but he renounced it and was baptised back to Catholic the second time and now he’s dead as a Catholic. Whats wrong with that? Why the fuck are these people want his remains? They get hefty commission from every buried remains?

The family should have the final decision on the body of their beloved one. Thats a plain common sense. What the fuck is all this shit, man. They have too much cemetery land reserves to use up hence they won’t let go this chance? Business no good at the islamic cemetery?

I would like to take this opportunity to advise all cons (vert) to make a will or some declaration and have it witnessed at the commissioner of oath… on your religion to save your loved ones this kind of crazy nonsense.

Lawyers, anyone, please enlighten me what this case will lead to. I mean the court hearings. 50/50 chance for both sides?

Now, where the hell is that Malaysian record-breaking solo sailor who sailed the world??
