Sorry for not posting this earlier. Blogger locked my publishing accidentally and now they have rectified it. So, here’s my 3D2N trip to Taman Negara from 15-17 Dec 2006 with my homies and some of their friends.
We reached Jerantut way too early. Were supposed to meet at the hostel at 8.00AM for breakfast and collect our crap complimentary t-shirts from the travel agent. We reached at 6.30AM. Walked around and waited for the town to wake up.
Hotel Seri Emas is just opposite this catchy red building but why we were asked to wait at this hotel? Maybe they open very early and we can use their washroom. Oh yeah, it is NKS’ office in Jerantut.
I think this is the most striking landmark in Jerantut. NKS Hotel & Travel, our travel agent. This is where we had our breakfast and boarded the bus to Kuala Tembeling.
Kuala Tembeling jetty.
One boat was not enough for all of us….. 24 pax. So, 6 fellas hopped onto this special boat with 2 kwailos. The two boatmen raced to keep us entertained during the 3-hours boat ride.
When we reached our hotel, Mutiara Hotel, it was already lunch time. Checked in and headed straight for lunch at one of the floating restaurant. The food at the floating restaurant was better than at the hotel. We had our lunches at floating restaurant and dinners at the hotel.
After lunch, we went cave exploring. We saw a lot of bats, spiders and a white snake in the cave. Too bad I didn’t manage to take any picture because my hands were full of bat droppings.
All so tired after the cave adventure.
Back in the hostel, Soon Keong trying out his poncho.
These ants bit my toe and it bled. Luckily that was just a split-second experience. No swells no nothing. Only a few drops of blood on my slipper.
Look at the ants !! They are huge.
Waiting for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant
After dinner, we attended a compulsory video introduction of Taman Negara. They said it is compulsory for all organised group trip. Then, after the compulsory video, we proceeded with the night jungle trekking.
Spiders were all that we saw the whole nite.
