The SMIH annual dinner… a flop?

So, hommies… if you are reading this shit, please don’t blame me. I have some confession to make here. I have my right. My fucking right.

In regards of the organizing work… I personally felt that this year round there have been a slow response on the organizing committee side. Everyone’s busy. I’m busy.. yeah, writing this blog. Everyone’s hoping I can do the shit and just wait for me to run the show. What the fuck?! Who’s the treasurer and gonna collect $ ? Have anyone agreed to a FINAL plan ? If not, I think I will give a final plan right here now. Towkay Teh’s idea. Ok?! Settle.

Venue: Restoran Talipon, Old Kuchai Road.
Date: 25th March 2006 (Sat)
Time: 7.00 - 10.30 pm
(No dress code)

Yea Chern, do you have the restaurant’s phone number?? Other mates, just come to the restaurant and eat. Whether you come or not, its your business. Pay on the spot. Around RM18 per person (I’d guess.. after the oil price hike). Considered cheap and no need to waste money to buy nice outfits just for the party like last year and no need to make-up or set your hair which will incur some more $. Just come as you are. By the way, Choki, hows the plan at Maju Junction restaurant?

Seems like the mood this year have slowed down unlike last year where everyone’s very excited and came out for organizing committee meeting everyweek. This year? Shit. The committee people not very cooperative. I don’t mean “not cooperative”, its just like they want me to do all the shits.. from confirming the place to have the gathering to informing all the mates to collecting $ to ………… whatever. Fuck.

Ok… sorry for all the fucks. Maybe a bit of mentally unstable these days… after the sudden oil price hike and the maggi-haired bitch saga. Let’s do it cheaper and not incurring extra expenses in setting your hair, new nite gown, rent projector etc etc. Just bring all your nice cameras to capture the moments. No second round for the big day ! A drink at the mamak stall or pub is ok. I don’t want karaoke or D. I’m sorry for all this angry-statements. Lets make it happen this year.

Ok, back to business. Well, Google came up with creative tools and services among which I like the most is the GMAIL Chat (+ Talk). Yes. You can have instant message in GMAIL itself. A widget will pop up for the chat window. Of course its not as bloated as MSN Messenger, ICQ or Yahoo Messenger…. but this one you don’t need to download the installer and look for updates periodically. You can chat with just the browser (ie. Mozilla Firefox). Its fast. But its a very very basic text chat tool. No sound, door knocks, ship horn, winks, etc.

Just in case some of you are ignorant enough.. let me tell you. GMAIL is great. Sign up now before nice user names are taken. You won’t regret. Trust me.

Google Deskop…. anyone? That’s another nice feature. Imagine my job… whereby hundreds of pictures taken everyday and downloaded to the PC. Proper filing of the digital pictures are important but when sometime you need to recall a particular file/case for some info… you will have a hard time looking for it. That Windoze built-in search tool is a dogg. Nowadays… whenever I wanna find some pictures of a certain make and model of vehicle… just typed it in the Google Desktop search bar and voila. Everythings in front of me in no time. Really. Try it for yourself.

There are a hosts of services that I have not even tried all. They don’t pay me for all this publicity. I just wanna show my gratitude to them for offering this blog service for free. Also, at last there’s someone who can really compete with Microsoft in the web services arena. Yeah.

Are you lost or incomplete? Tell me how do you feel? Well I feel like they’re talking in a language I dont speak. (part of the lyrics in the Coldplay’s song) You can always translate a web page in foreign language to you and have an idea of what’s the webpage is talking about. The grammar may be out of place but who cares.

www.google.com is the place to go. Go and get a GMAIL account today… NOW ! They offer 2.7G of disk space. It has POP and SMTP servers, so you can use your favourite email client (ie. the powerful Mozilla Thunderbird) to access your GMAIL account. I still see people signing up for Yahoo or Hotmail (they’re very stingy in disk space). Arrggghh.
